Campaign

West Midlands NO!

What’s the point in campaigning?  They never take any notice anyway do they?

The North East No Campaign essentially consisted of one man – Neil Herron – and turned around an anticipated strong vote of confidence in the North East Regional Assembly (NERA) to the biggest referendum defeat of any British government (78%).

If one man can make that much of a difference, imagine what a group of similarly driven and focussed people can do!

There are several things you can do to get involved with the campaign:

  • Write to your local authority and object to any and all regionalisation and demand a referendum
  • Write to your MP and insist that they fight the City Region – they are elected to represent the views and wishes of their constituents, not their own interests or those of the party they represent
  • Start a petition demanding a referendum on regionalisation
  • Email us and register your support

But the most important thing you can do to suppor the campaign is tell people about it.  If you tell two people and those two people tell another two people, before long the message will spread and the veil of secrecy will be lifted.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.
